Former All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year Rushawn Baker signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent following the conclusion of the NFL Draft Saturday night.
He was one of three former Section V players who will get a shot to earn a spot on an NFL roster.
Baker, a 2021 Victor grad, went undrafted out of Elon University, where he was an All-Coastal Athletic Association honorable mention selection in 2024 after rushing for 583 yards and six touchdowns across the final four games as a senior. The 6-foot, 225-pound running back began his college career at Bucknell following Victor’s Section V finals run during the spring 2021 season, when he won AGR Player of the Year honors.
Baker signed with a Giants organization that chose Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with the third overall pick of Thursday night’s NFL Draft at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Nate Carter signs with Atlanta Falcons as UDFA
Former Bishop Kearney star Nate Carter signed as an UDFA with the Atlanta Falcons. A 5-foot-10, 202-pound running back, Carter rushed for 1,297 yards and nine touchdowns in two seasons at Michigan State. He was a redshirt junior in 2024. Carter was an AGR pick in 2019 before enrolling at UConn in January 2020.
Seven McGee invited to rookie minicamp with Atlanta Falcons
Former East High star Seven McGee will also get an NFL shot in Atlanta. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound receiver received a minicamp invite from the Falcons to try to earn an UDFA contract. He recorded 47 receptions for 644 yards and six touchdowns at UAlbany. McGee, a former AGR first teamer, also played at Oregon and Jackson State after becoming a highly recruited high school prospect.
