With the global beauty and personal care market projected to reach $716 billion by 2025, according to Statista data, brands prioritizing sustainability and innovation are gaining significant traction. Against this backdrop, Argéniq—a new entrant founded by serial entrepreneur Nina Kharey and business partner Michelle Lee—has launched its debut product: the Radiant Skin Cleansing Cloth.

The cloth’s design integrates silver-ion technology to offer antibacterial protection, positioning itself as a sustainable, high-performance alternative to traditional skin care tools. It is designed for all skin types and provides gentle exfoliation, reduces bacterial contamination, and supports environmentally conscious practices.

“Our goal was to create a product that simplifies skincare while respecting the planet,” Kharey told CosmeticsDesign.

“We’re all overwhelmed with excessive routines and wasteful products,” she added, and “Argéniq is about doing more with less—blending science with beauty in a way that benefits both consumers and the environment.”

Lessons from fashion and medical wear

Argéniq draws heavily on Kharey’s prior experience in fashion and medical wear.

“Over the past 15 years, I’ve learned the importance of precision—not just in design, but in building the right team,” she said. “That experience helped us assemble exceptional talent in product development and branding for Argéniq.”

Kharey also emphasized how her sister brand, Folds, laid the groundwork for the Radiant Skin Cleansing Cloth. “Folds specializes in hypoallergenic scrubs, and working with this innovative fabric gave us a head start,” she said.

Drawing on this experience, “we conducted extensive research and trials, refining the material to meet skin care-specific needs,” she explained, adding that “it was an opportunity to take what we already knew and elevate it.”

Trials of the Radiant Skin Cleansing Cloth involved participants aged 12 to 60. According to Kharey, feedback from these trials confirmed the product’s broad effectiveness.

“The results were incredible,” she shared. “Participants reported smoother, brighter skin and reduced breakouts,” and “it was proof that we were onto something special.”

Addressing market gaps

The cloth was designed to address three key gaps in the skin care market: hygiene, sensitivity, and sustainability. Traditional towels often harbor bacteria, while disposable wipes contribute significantly to landfill waste.

Argéniq’s product offers a solution to both problems with its reusable, recyclable design and antibacterial properties.

“Our cloth’s silver-ion technology eliminates 99.7% of bacteria,” explained Kharey. “This not only ensures a cleaner cleansing experience but also reduces the spread of bacteria that can worsen acne or irritation,” which is “especially beneficial for sensitive and problem-prone skin.”

The cloth’s hypoallergenic composition also sets it apart.

“Many skin care products are laden with chemicals that irritate sensitive skin,” Kharey noted.“Our cloth avoids silicones, solvents, and microplastics, making it safe for everyone—from preteens to those with mature skin.”

Sustainability as a priority

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Argéniq’s approach. The cloth is made from fully recyclable Meryl polymers, and its production process eliminates water usage during dyeing, reducing environmental impact.

“We’ve designed a product that doesn’t need to end up in a landfill,” said Kharey. “At the end of its life, it can be recycled into new fabrics, ensuring it stays within the production cycle.”

Kharey highlighted the broader implications for the beauty industry: “The environmental impact of skin care routines is often overlooked,” so “by creating a product that lasts longer, uses less water, and avoids harmful chemicals, we’re encouraging consumers to rethink their habits.”

Building a digital-first presence

The Radiant Skin Cleansing Cloth is launching exclusively online, a decision Kharey describes as deliberate. “The digital space allows us to engage directly with consumers and build a community around our values,” she said.

This allows the brand to focus “on creating content that educates and inspires, from showcasing the benefits of the cloth to sharing user testimonials.”
