The Oklahoma City Thunder were at home on Tuesday night as they hosted the Denver Nugget in Game 5 of their second-round series.
Game 5 was a crucial one for both teams with the series tied 2-2 as both squads looked to gain total control of the series.
Tuesday’s game was a hard-fought one for both sides and it seemed as though Oklahoma City was going to let another home game slip away in the series after Denver was able to open up a sizeable lead after a great third quarter.
That would not be the case, though, as the Thunder stormed back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Nuggets 34-19 to grab a crucial 112-105 victory.
Of course, Tuesday’s contest was headlined by the stars of both teams as both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic showed out in Game 5.
Jokic ended the game with 44 points, 15 rebounds and five assists while Shai recorded 31 points, six rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks to lead the Thunder to the victory.

It was yet another incredible performance by the MVP finalist, one that Thunder fans have seen a ton this season.
With his performance, Shai also made Thunder franchise history as he joined two of the greatest players in Oklahoma City history.
Shai became just the third Thunder player to record multiple playoff games with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks, joining Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

This is an impressive feat for Shai who is quickly etching his name amongst the legends in Thunder history as he has put together a historic season.
With Shai leading the way in the victory, the Thunder now take a commanding 3-2 lead in the series as they try to close it out and advance to the Western Conference Finals with a victory in Game 6 on Thursday night in Denver.
