Procurement set to begin for Ebbsfleet Central infrastructure

Contractors will soon be able to register interest in infrastructure works for the first phase of the Ebbsfleet Central development in North Kent.

Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC) will launch an early market engagement notice on 19 May 2025 for the delivery of structures, highways, utilities and landscaping across the site.

The engagement will run until 16 June, with the final date for firms to register to receive the notice set for 13 June.

The contract may be split into separate lots or awarded as a combined package. Further details are due to be shared in an online webinar scheduled for 3 June. Registration for the session must be completed by 23 May.

The works are part of EDC’s flagship project to develop Ebbsfleet Central, which is intended to form the heart of the 21st-century garden city.

The wider scheme aims to deliver up to 15,000 homes, 50 parks and open spaces, new public transport infrastructure, and major road improvements.

EDC was set up by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government in 2015 and acts as planning authority and landowner for several sites within the regeneration area.

The body is working in partnership with local authorities and Kent County Council to bring forward the scheme.

So far, more than 3,500 homes have been built in Ebbsfleet, which the development body claims is the fastest rate of delivery in the country.
