Knicks, Shake Milton agreeing to sign-and-trade to Nets as part of Mikal Bridges deal

The Knicks are sending Shake Milton and Mamadi Diakite to the Nets as part of the Mikal Bridges trade, as first reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania and confirmed by SNY’s Ian Begley.

Milton will join Brooklyn as part of a sign-and-trade deal worth $9 million over three years. The contract should get the Knicks enough total salary to avoid the first apron hard cap, per Begley.

To complete the deal, the Nets are also sending Keita Bates-Diop to New York.

Here’s a look at the overall trade.

According to Begley, the Knicks had at least one other deal lined up as they entered free agency to get out of the hard cap.
