The procurement arm of social housing consortium Efficiency North has extended the deadline for bids on two frameworks with a combined value of almost £4bn.
EN:Procure revealed earlier today (11 September) that interested parties have until 29 September to submit bids on a £3.2bn installation and repairs framework covering Yorkshire, Humberside, the East Midlands and North West England.
When EN:Procure first announced the tender in July, it gave a deadline of 1 September.
EN:Procure chief executive Lee Parkinson said the extension of the tender was necessary “to ensure the highest quality of bids and allow as many businesses as possible the opportunity for selection”.
A previous iteration of the framework was launched in 2019. EN:Procure said that, since then, it had resulted in more than £272m of installation, maintenance and repair work, plus £2m in social-value initiatives.
Contractors will be expected to devise their own socia-value strategies during the term of the framework, which is due to run from later this year until 2027.
On 6 September, EN:Procure also announced that the deadline for its £700m new-build residential and commercial construction framework had also been extended, to 10 October.
The framework comprises four lots covering housing and mixed-use developments incorporating commercial or public infrastructure and buildings. It will run from 2023 to 2027.
Projects in the framework will predominantly be situated in the North West, Yorkshire & the Humber and the East Midlands, but may also extend to other areas of the country, EN:Procure said in its tender notice.
