Clancy has added three new faces to its top team to grow its civils and energy work – including a hire from Skanska .
The contractor has made the appointments to help deliver new business across energy, water and major civil engineering projects.
Jon Arnold is Clancy’s new operations director, joining the firm from Skanska where he was a project director.
His recent projects have included the Humber gas replacement pipeline, procurement for the Lower Thames Crossing and the South East Electricity Substation Alliance (SEESA).
Arnold has also previously held senior commercial roles for Laing O’Rourke Infrastructure and Morricom.
Matt Cannon, chief executive of Clancy, said: “There is huge demand for our energy expertise as the sector works toward decarbonising our grid and supporting the government’s ambition of making Britain a clean energy superpower.
“Jon’s track record in delivering major infrastructure projects will be a real asset to our teams as we help our clients to tackle challenges around efficiency, capacity and costs.”
The changes follow the firm’s announcement earlier this month of its best-ever results with revenue of £378.5m.
Recent project wins include the £200m Anglian maintenance alliance.
Also promoted to Clancy’s executive board of directors are Bryan Curtayne and Martin McGovern.
Curtayne has been with the firm since 2002 and has been focused on joint ventures including delivery of Thames Water’s AMP5 investment across North London and Thames Valley.
McGovern has been focused on the energy sector since joining the firm in 2010 with recent work including support projects for Scottish and Southern Energy grid expansion. He has also previously worked for Skanska as well as McNicholas PLC.
Cannon said the pair have played “integral roles” in the firm’s continued growth and that they have been crucial to building long-standing relationships
He added they “will be incredibly valuable as we continue to share best practice across our business to support clients in delivering on the UK’s infrastructure needs”.
