Women who define excellence across the construction industry have had their efforts recognised at a high-profile awards ceremony, supported by Construction News.
The Inspiring Women in Construction & Engineering Awards 2024 saw 21 of the brightest and best win accolades for work as individuals and teams in UK companies.
Construction firms including Winvic and Amey also gained recognition for their work in improving diversity and equality.
The event in London last night (17 September) further celebrated initiatives that have helped make a construction or engineering firm – and the industry in general – a better place to work.
Also supported by CN sister titles New Civil Engineer and Ground Engineering, the awards are focused on encouraging the development of women within the sector and improving equality, diversity and inclusion policies.
Categories included Excellence in Senior Leadership and Allyship Champion of the Year.
The sponsors of the awards were Arcardis, Speedy Hire, Heidelberg Materials, Willmott Dixon and Colas.
CN editor Colin Marrs said: “Increasing female representation in the workforce is a key objective for construction firms as they seek to better reflect the broader make-up of society. In this context, it is all the more important to recognise the fantastic efforts to move the needle in the direction of gender equality.”
