Tennessee defeats Ole Miss to tie SEC softball series


No. 4 Tennessee (38-11, 13-7 SEC) defeated No. 16 Ole Miss (34-13, 10-10 SEC), 6-0, Saturday at Ole Miss Softball Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.

The Lady Vols ended a two-game losing streak and tied the SEC series.

Junior Karlyn Pickens pitched a complete game for Tennessee. She allowed seven hits and one walk. Pickens recorded 10 strikeouts, including her 200th of the season.

She became the first Tennessee pitcher to record consecutive 200-strikeout seasons since Ellen Renfroe from 2012-13. Pickens totaled 116 pitches, including 78 strikes, against Ole Miss. She pitched her 17th complete game and sixth shutout of the 2025 campaign.

Taylor Pannell went 2-for-4 and recorded one double, three RBIs and two runs for the Lady Vols. Ella Dodge also went 2-for-3 for Tennessee.

Former Lady Vol Lair Beautae played in the game for the Rebels, going 0-for-4. She played for Tennessee from 2022-23 before transferring to Houston in 2024.
